The Crazy Safety Story
Zdenko and the First Crazy Safety Helmet
Zdenko was 13 years old and in 8th grade at school in the small town of Jægerspris. He was a creative boy with a vivid imagination, always ready with a funny idea or an exciting project. But there was one thing he didn’t like: wearing a bike helmet. His parents insisted that he always wear one when riding to school or around town. But for Zdenko, helmets felt lame—boring and uninspiring.
One day, as he sat in his room staring at his dull, gray helmet, he decided he would do something about it. If he had to wear a helmet, it should at least be fun and different! So, he started searching around the house for materials—a bit of cardboard, some foam balls, and plenty of paint.
With a bit of ingenuity and a lot of creativity, Zdenko created something truly unique: a helmet shaped like a crocodile! It had large, sharp teeth, scaly details, and eyes peering out from the top. When he put it on, he couldn’t help but laugh—now wearing a helmet was suddenly fun.
The next day at school, Zdenko caused quite a stir as he rolled into the schoolyard wearing his crocodile helmet. His classmates couldn’t take their eyes off it—it was fun, different, and really cool. No one had ever seen anything like it before, and they thought it was so awesome that they started asking if he could make helmets for them too.
What started as a fun idea from a 13-year-old boy grew into something much bigger. Zdenko's creative spark became the first version of what we now know as Crazy Safety helmets. With a cheeky smile and a twinkle in his eye, he transformed a boring necessity into something fun and exciting—proving that safety and style can go hand in hand.
